Much progress since the last time

Well it's been a few days but there wasn't anything happening over the long weekend. Yesterday and today have really brought big changes. If a picture is worth a thousand words, they will speak volumes.  I'll just post the images and add captions.

I am very happy with the work and the look I am going for is really coming together.

The main bathroom is coming together nicely

And the throne from the ensuite bathroom has been temporarily relocated

And this shows that the end is in sight. At the moment the floor here has a couple of skim coats to even it off so the vinyl flooring can be laid - hopefully tomorrow.

The doors are awaiting their hanging and hardware installation - this style of door will be on the bedrooms, linen closet and sliding doors on the hallway utility closet.

I decided to get fan-lights for the dining room and bedroom. And while searching for something I liked, I found these at Home Depot of all places. The fans are inside the drum of the fixture. Initially I wanted the blingy one in the dining room but decided that they looked better swapped. Both look great and the fans are terrific. In the photos you can see the paint colour pretty well and in the dining room you can see that the new baseboards make a big difference to the overall look.

My blingy bedroom fan/light. Adds some needed sparkle. Everyone needs a little sparkly in their life.

And this is the dining room fixture. The fan really works well and I'm sure it will get lots of use. I'll be sure not to turn it on if I have candles on the dinner table. Then again, it's probably a nice Covid-safe way to blow out birthday candles. Hmmm - unplanned bonus.

That's all for today folks.

  1. Fascinating to watch a space that's similar to your current place into an almost perfect clone of your current place. It looks great!

It's all about the floors

Let there be drapes and colour and a microwave
